Glad you could stop by, checkout some of my gear, and still
want to know a little more about myself. I've always been
a big kid at heart and enjoyed all kinds of toys growing up.
When I was young it was GI Joe and Star Wars figures then
I progressed to gaming on the Atari and Commodore 64 (thats
dating myself). Those where some good times for sure and I
have alot of fond memories of summer vacations spent running
around with friends and staying up way too late way too often
trying to finish games.
Growing up I was really only good at one thing and was drawing
pictures. I'd like to think all the time spent reading fantasy
books and playing games fueled my creative drive at that age
and primed me for success through adulthood. Initially I started
taking all the art classes I could in high school just to
fulfill all my requirements, but it turns out I found my niche
and ran with it. I was first person in my family to attend
and graduate from college.
While in college I forged a life long friendship with Steve
Conard who is just as obsessed with toys and gaming as I am.
I think our wives each secretly harbor ill will toward us
because we are constantly serving as bad influences to each
other by encouraging the purchase of way too many toys. If
one of us isn't making a purchase then the other is spotting
deals and new releases. Its a vicious circle!
Nowadays I keep busy with my career and trying to keep my
kids on the straight and narrow while going through high school.
Thats a full time job in and of itself. Any free time I can
find you'll likely find me gaming, remodeling the house, or
working on my project car (95' Taurus SHO). That or taking
an evening to enjoy the comforts of the couch for a welcomed
break and a little HD content. I don't know how I managed
before High Def content as I don't even want to watch movies
or television if its not in HD.
I also enjoy motorcycle riding (although I'm not hardcore
about it) and trying to get away on weekends more with my
wife. Its nice to get away from everything on occasion and
kinda refresh yourself a bit. With any luck and alot of hard
work that will be come easier and more frequent in the years
to come.
Finally, I'm just grateful for being able to make a living
doing something that has always came naturally to me. My career
allows me great flexibility and opportunites in addition to
achieving a great family/career balance.
