About my R/C hobby interests

As just about any boy growing up in the late 70s and early 80s I was drawn to the radio controlled vehicles you'd find at K-Mart or in the JCPennys Christmas catalog. I thought those where the end all be all at that age and no idea there was a whole other level of R/C technology out there. When I was in high school I bought my first entry level hobby kit, the Kyosho Ultima Buggy. Things like real oil filled shocks blew my mind! Oh how things have changed. I've had several cars over the years and currently I'm into the mini-variety for ease of use and parts affordability. Theres nothing like driving an all-wheel drive on-road electric car 25mph+ on a clean tennis court. Again, good times!

Some of my best memories of my first job after college was the daily R/C races my co-workers and I would have in the parking lot of our building over lunch break. For several years we ran on-road 2wd cars up to Traxxas Stampedes for major carnage. Many a time we ended up taking trips to the closest hobby shop an hour away to stock up on parts that we'd consistently break.

In the future I'd like to step up to the mini gas-powered Trinity Next. Its a small 4wd buggy type vehicle that I think would be a blast to drive. I'd also like to get two different sizes of electric full-function (6-channel) helicopters. Dare to dream.
